Music Box

The innovative approach of assembling music box toys merges the nostalgist with contemporary lifestyle demands. Yet, these "packaged in box" products are hindered by customization limits, including non-changeable music tracks and set model components. Given the burgeoning resources in digital modeling and rapid prototyping, this product design process is poised to advance into the computational fabrication era.

We reimagined the music box's structure and functionality through programming, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and 3D printing. This process allows for customizable options, straightforward part replacement, and addresses the sound quality and durability problems of plastic parts.

Jump & Adventure

Inspired by the Google Chrome Dinosaur Game, an obstacle-avoid game that allows users to control a "dinosaur" by simply clicking a mouse or keyboard, the team wanted to design a version of this game that translates the clicking part into interactions that are more engaging.

By combining technologies including Arduino and P5.js, we expect to develop a system where it has a wearable component that detects users jumping motions to play the game as well as a sensor that allows user to gesture control for starting, pausing, and resuming the game.

Our goal is to evaluate the usability of multiple types of interactions by using various sensors to find out which types are suitable for this kind of clicking game.
